The cause of death of a man found dead under his vehicle in Tamaqua on Tuesday has been ruled accidental.
Schuylkill County Coroner Dr. David Moylan said 40 year old Paul Derr, of Clay St., died of “traumatic asphyxiation” due to the weight of the vehicle landing on top of him.
Derr was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:20 p.m. by Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky, Mahanoy City, who said it appears that Derr was working on an SUV when the vehicle came loose from the ramps it was on and landed on top of the man.
