Schuylkill County officials said Wednesday that they are working on a project to control the torrents of water that have devastated residents, after this summer’s flooding.
According to the Republican Herald, County Administrator Gary R. Bender said the county plans to use $4.5 million to clear debris from the creek and provide a place for excess water to go.
The second part of the plan will consist of the restoration of another flood plain, this one in Pine Grove on the east side of Swatara Creek.
It is estimated that the entire project will take at least 18 months to complete.
