Demolition of a building in Frackville resulted in power outages and road closures, Wednesday afternoon.
Crews from ADM Logistics, Port Carbon, began tearing down the former Heaven Scent Florist, located at 51 S. Lehigh Ave. when a wall, which was to collapse inward, fell towards Lehigh Street bringing down Service Electric Cable lines and throwing bricks into the street. Traffic lights were also struck by the flying debris.
The front wall then collapsed onto Lehigh Avenue, Route 924, after being hit with the boom of the excavator, damaging additional Service Electric lines, a PPL neutral line.
A passing vehicle was also hit with bricks and other debris.
No injuries were reported, but the two collapses forced the closure of traffic at the intersection of routes 61 and 924 for several hours.
