Theft and drug charges...

A Mahanoy Township man was jailed early Thursday morning on theft and drug charges after allegedly robbing a juvenile in Mahanoy City hours before.

According to the Republican Herald, 23 year old Stephen M. Bolish, of Morea, was charged by Mahanoy City police in connection with the incident about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the borough when he allegedly robbed the 15 year old of cash at her residence.

Bolish was located at his grandmother’s residence a short time later, where police discovered hypodermic needles and two bundles of suspected heroin.

He was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James K. Reiley, Pottsville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $25,000 straight cash bail.

Bolish will now have to answer to the charges against him at a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah.
