State police were called to a remote area in Yatesville, Mahanoy Township, Monday, after human skeletal remains were allegedly discovered.
According to the Republican Herald, the site is located along Route 54, off an access road into private property owned by Schuylkill Energy Resources Inc., in an area where a large conveyor belt crosses Route 54.
Schuylkill County deputy coroners Deb Detweiller and David Truskowsky were at the scene along with members of the state police Forensic Services Unit based at Troop L headquarters, Reading.
No further information on the remains is yet available.
