The Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29 Board of Directors approved a furlough of five Pre-K Counts employees, Monday.
According to the Republican Herald, IU 29 Executive Director Gregory S. Koons said many of the furloughed positions were under conditional approval.
Once the IU receives the final approval for an anticipated $306,000 grant, it’s expected those staff members will be rehired.
IU 29 hopes to have that funding in place, possibly by the end of this week.
