A Lehighton man was killed in a traffic accident Sunday on Route 61 in Tilden Township, Berks County.
According to the Republican Herald, the accident occurred about 2:25 p.m. in the vicinity of Interstate 78 when the victim was driving a motorcycle north on Route 61 and a vehicle traveling south on Route 61 made a U-turn in front of the motorcycle.
A female passenger on the motorcycle was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Police would not release the names of anyone involved in the accident since the investigation is continuing.
Tilden Township Police reported that neither of the motorcycle riders were wearing helmets.
