Eight Schuylkill County businesses were cited by the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement for various violations of the state Liquor Law.
Citations range from the purchase of alcohol beverages with insufficient funds in the account to selling alcoholic beverages after the restaurant liquor license expired and failure to operate the Small Games of Chance in conformance with the law.
According to the Republican Herald, the charges will now be brought before an administrative law judge who can impose fines between $50 and $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious infractions.
The judge can also impose a license suspension or revocation or mandate training for the licensee in an effort to educate them on their responsibilities.
