NY Man jailed after shooting...

A New York man was jailed after being arrested early Sunday morning by Pottsville police on attempted homicide and multiple other charges.

According to the Republican Herald, Police Chief Richard F. Wojciechowsky said the incident began about 3:30 a.m. when officers responded to sounds consistent with gun shots in the area of the 100 block of Progress Avenue and were later notified by Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill S. Jackson Street that a gunshot victim had arrived at the facility for evaluation.

The investigation revealed that a man identifying himself as 23 year old Quan Robinson, of Brooklyn, New York, had intentionally fired two 9 mm rounds from a handgun at a vehicle being driven southbound on Progress Avenue past the Ramada Inn with five occupants inside.

Wojciechowsky said one of the bullets grazed a 20-year-old man in his lower back area. The wounded man, who was a passenger in the car, was treated for a minor injury and released.

Robinson was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David Rossi, Tremont, who set bail at $250,000 and remanded the man to Schuylkill County Prison.
