58 year old Steven M. Cormier, a disbarred Carbon County lawyer, is headed to state prison after admitting Wednesday in Schuylkill County Court that he robbed a bank in October 2015 in Norwegian Township.
According to the Republican Herald, State police at Schuylkill Haven charged Cormier with robbing the Wells Fargo Bank office at the Fairlane Village mall of $15,923 on Oct. 13, 2015.
Authorities said Pottsville police stopped Cormier in his vehicle and took him back to the bank, where three witnesses identified him as the robber.
Judge James P. Goodman accepted Cormier’s plea and sentenced him to serve 18 to 36 months in a state correctional institution. Goodman made the sentence effective Oct. 25.
