Servants To All is opening up an overnight homeless shelter, in October, with thirteen beds set to be available.
According to the Republican Herald, the program has provided services to 474 individuals since it opened at the end of July.
Servants To All received funding from the Emergency Solutions Grant through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Catholic Foundation to hire four part-time shelter workers. The organization’s board of directors is still reviewing applications for the positions and is looking for about 30 volunteers for the shelter.
The shelter will be for men and women and staffed at all times. It will only be open overnight from 8:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church, located at 214 Mahantongo St., Pottsville.
