Jesse Olivieri, of Ashland, who was charged with causing an incident near the White House in May pleaded guilty on Tuesday.
Olivieri was shot by a Secret Service officer near the Southwest grounds of the White House on May 20 while carrying a handgun after he refused to stop when ordered to do so.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia and the U.S. Park Police said Olivieri pleaded guilty to a federal charge of resisting or impeding certain officers or employees with a dangerous weapon.
No sentencing date has been set.
The federal offense carries a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
