In an effort to save money, Schuylkill Keep It Pretty has decided to close its office at 91 Progress Ave., in Pottsville.
SKIP executive director Darlene D. Dolzani now runs the office out her home in West Brunswick Township. The county’s nonprofit, anti-litter and recycling program was established in 1986 to manage countywide cleanup efforts, teach environmental education and assist in litter enforcement.
The operation is financed by the county and by fundraisers.
The fall SKIP cleanup is scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 23 through 25, with target areas including the state Route 61 corridor through Schuylkill County.
Anyone wishing to volunteer can call at 570-449-4760.
SKIP’s new mailing address is:
Schuylkill Keep It Pretty, P.O. Box 18, Orwigsburg, PA 17961.
