The Williams Valley school board Thursday voted 7-0 to approve the suspension of elementary computer teacher Alexander Barra without pay, effective immediately.
According to the Republican Herald, District solicitor Richard A. Thornburg advised board directors to refrain from commenting in regard to the matter.
Thornburg gave no other details on the suspension, except to say that a potential hearing for Barra could be held Sept. 21.
According to the Aug. 8, 2013, district board minutes, Barra, of Bloomsburg, was hired by the board to serve as an elementary computer teacher beginning Aug. 14, 2013.
