Beach open...
by News Department on 06/09/15The beach at Locust Lake is open again after being closed for high levels of bacteria.
Park Manager Lewis Williams issued a closure of Locust Lake State Park beach on Thursday due to a high level of coliform, which are microscopic organisms that live in the intestines of warm-blooded animals and their feces.
However, water samples were taken and the beach reopened the next day.
On Wednesday, the beach at Beltzville State Park, Carbon County, was also closed due to high bacteria levels in the water.
