CVS Development plan approved...
by News Department on 06/09/15The Pottsville city council approved the “Final Land Development Plan” on Monday, for the CVS Pharmacy to be built along the east side of Claude A. Lord Boulevard later this year.
The Republican Herald reports that CVS will have to apply for a demolition permit before taking down two buildings on the site, the former Big Jack’s-Little Bob’s Brewer’s Outlet and a Sands Ford dealership.
The development plan includes the removal of a mural on the outside wall of Brewer’s Outlet, made by local artist David W. Naydock.
According to City Administrator Thomas A. Palamar, CVS plans to remove the section of wall the mural is on and carefully put it off to the side. Palamar said CVS is in the process of hiring a general contractor and a start date for the project has not been set.
