Dump the Pump Day...
by News Department on 06/15/15The Schuylkill Transportation System (STS) is reminding residents that it will join with the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and other public transportation systems nationwide to participate in the tenth Annual National Dump the Pump Day on Thursday, June 18.
All passengers will have the opportunity to ride any fixed route vehicle for free that day. The 2015 National Dump the Pump Day is a day that encourages people to ride public transportation as public transit powers community growth by driving economic development and revitalizing neighborhoods.
In 2014, Americans took 10.8 billion trips on public transportation, the highest in 58 years.
