Legislation to memorialize highways...
by News Department on 06/15/15State legislators will again be discussing naming portions of two Schuylkill county highways after servicemen killed in action.
State Rep. Jerry Knowles is sponsoring legislation to rename Route 61, from Route 443 to State Route 2014, the Capt. Jason b. Jones Memorial Highway, for the Army special officer killed in Afghanistan.
And Route 443 in Orwigsburg, to be renamed for Army Corporal David Heiser, another Orwigsburg resident killed in Vietnam in 1969.
