Missing funds...
by News Department on 06/10/15The State Attorney General's Office is investigating what if anything happened to more than $300,000 from the Kline Township Municipal Authority.
Questions about the money began in early 2014 when an audit commissioned by the Authority found financial discrepancies.
Authority officials say they contacted Schuylkill County District Attorney, Christine Holman, to investigate the possible missing funds. Holman said the letters she forwarded indicated a number of in excess of $300,000 and they seem solid but if the Attorney General hires an auditor then she doesn’t want to hold them to that number.
The solicitor for the Authority released a statement that indicated they are cooperating with law enforcement and were confident the money was not missing and all of this was the result of problems with the billing procedures between 2008 and 2012.
