A home in Gilberton was destroyed by fire Monday morning. I was just after 10:00am when fire crews were called to 128 Main Street for a working structure fire.
A Fire Marshall was first on scene and quickly upgraded the fire to a 2nd alarm and requested a tanker task force.
The single block home was a total loss.
There is no word yet on how the fire started and a State Police Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate.
The occupant of the residence, James Stank, was not home when the fire broke out.
