State Prison sentence...

A Shenandoah man will be sent to state prison, as soon as Schuylkill County prosecutors can find him, after a judge sentenced him for selling heroin and fentanyl in April 2016 in his hometown.

According to the Republican Herald, 55 year old Robert Besparis was charged by Shenandoah police after he sold heroin and fentanyl to a confidential informant on April 14, 2016.

Besparis had been free on $25,000 unsecured bail before the trial.

But because he did not appear for trial, or for Monday’s sentencing hearing, prosecutors can seek to have him forfeit that entire amount.

Judge Charles M. Miller ruled he must now spend 27 to 60 months in a state correctional institution.
