Governor Tom Wolf has signed a bill lifting the ban on semi-automatic rifles as well as some others for hunting in Pennsylvania.
The bill would also allow for the use of air- and gas-powered rifles. However, hunters cannot use those weapons just yet.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission must still set regulations and rules on when and where hunters can use such weapons.
And hunters are reminded that those weapons signed into the new bill are not allowed for the last day of bear season, today, or for rifle deer season, which starts next week.
