The Republican Herald reports that U.S. Rep. Matt Cartwright said Tuesday that he has mixed feelings about the changes in Pennsylvania’s congressional districts which means he will no longer represent Schuylkill County.
The three counties; Schuylkill, which he represented in its entirety, Carbon and Northampton, of which he represented sections — formed part of the 17th District, along with sections of Lackawanna and Luzerne.
However, Cartwright said the new districts will not take effect until 2019, when the representatives in the new districts take office. Until then, he said Schuylkill remains vital to his work.
