Charges of animal cruelty are pending against a Shamokin teen, who police allege allowed his dog to maul and kill a Shamokin man's cat Wednesday evening.
According to authorities, 17 year old Shatiq Crum, and another male, who he refused to identify to police, were caught on home surveillance video provided by a neighbor, walking two pitbulls on West Willow Street.
The video shows the boys walking the dogs on leashes following the cat and then shows the pitbulls off of their leashes, chasing the cat onto a porch, where it was attacked and eventually killed.
According to an incident report Crum stated that he had tried to pull the pitbull off of the cat, but had difficulty because of the dog's strength.
Crum was informed that charges will be filed.
The PA State Dog Warden is expected to visit Moore's residence to inspect the animal involved in the incident.
