Two people from Schuylkill Haven are facing charges after a methamphetamine lab was discovered inside a borough home Monday morning.
According to the Republican Herald, Schuylkill Haven police Sgt. Glenn Firing said the events leading up to the discovery began about 8:30 a.m. when Patrolman Vincent McDonald was called for a report of a suspicious man in the backyard of a residence.
At the scene, McDonald found Sean Deibert confused and disoriented, prompting the officer to have the man evaluated. McDonald then followed up on the incident by going to the home of Deibert at 96 McKinley St. During the course of the investigation, McDonald determined there were children living in the home but were not there at the time.
McDonald and Chief Jeffrey Walcott were informed about a methamphetamine lab in the basement of the home. Acting on this information, Firing said a state police Forensics Services Unit responded to the house and conducted a search of the property and found materials and evidence of the manufacturing of methamphetamine.
An arrest warrant was obtained for Deibert charging him with manufacture of methamphetamine and endangering the welfare of children.
Another individual, Ashley Janowski, is facing charges of endangering the welfare of children as a result of the incident.
The charges against both were filed with Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg.
