A preliminary hearing was held Wednesday, in Schuylkill County Court for 69 year old Jane Ella Schreiner, of McAdoo, in the shooting death of her husband.
State police at Schuylkill Haven have charged Schreiner with shooting Kenneth Schreiner with a .38-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver on Aug. 4 in their 101 Hillside Road home.
Magisterial District Judge Stephen J. Bayer ruled prosecutors presented enough evidence to support all charges against her and ordered them held for court.
After the hearing, Schreiner was returned to prison, where she is being held without bail pending further court action.
District Attorney Christine A. Holman said after the hearing that no decision on a possible death penalty will be made until after Schreiner’s formal arraignment.
